Italian towns approve 2026 budgets, earmark millions for services

Several Italian municipalities approved their 2026 budget adjustments in late July, confirming balanced accounts and allocating new resources for public services. The council of Umbertide certified the fiscal balance and approved a general budget adjustment, enabling continued funding for public works, cultural projects, schools, green areas and social services.

In Rome’s Municipio XV, the July budget settlement transferred roughly €6 million for investment plans, social services, school equipment, green‑space maintenance and road safety measures. Carsoli’s council approved a €400 000 allocation for environmental and road upgrades without raising the waste‑tax (TARI). Isola del Piano’s new majority approved a €7 500 grant for public‑green upkeep and €7 000 for park‑playground improvements, citing a shift toward better local infrastructure. Cascina also adopted a budget variation, though opposition leaders warned that the approved figures do not reflect on‑the‑ground realities.

Across these towns, the common focus is on maintaining fiscal equilibrium while directing funds toward infrastructure, environmental upkeep, education and social welfare projects for the coming year.
