Umbria allocates €5 million for sports venue upgrades and road repair
The Umbria regional government has approved a €4,007,239.99 funding programme to upgrade public sports facilities. The scheme, part of the 2021‑2027 regional FESR plan, will finance renewable‑energy installations (about €2.15 million) and seismic‑risk improvements (about €1.86 million). The public contribution covers 82 % of costs, with the remainder supplied by local authorities. Grants range from €201,000 to €800,000 per project and give priority to small mountain municipalities and deprived areas.
Separately, the province will spend more than €1 million on the SP 37 road in Avigliano after a landslide. Funded with ministerial resources, the work includes consolidating the slope with reinforced earthworks, installing new protective barriers, and resurfacing the damaged carriageway.
Both initiatives aim to enhance safety, sustainability and accessibility of community infrastructure in Umbria.
