Umbria Region allocates 4 million euros for youth internships

The Umbria Region has approved a 4 million euro investment to support youth employment through new extracurricular internships. Part of the Umbria FSE+ 2021-2027 Regional Program, the initiative aims to bridge the gap between formal education and entry into the professional labor market.

The program targets individuals aged 18 to 34 who are residents or domiciled in Umbria, registered with regional employment centers, and have signed a service pact within the last 12 months. Participants will receive a monthly gross allowance of 600 euros for four-month internship periods.

Regional Councilor for Labor Policies, Francesco De Rebotti, stated that these internships serve as a vital link to the professional world, especially as the economy demands increasingly specific skills. The initiative places a particular emphasis on supporting young people in the region’s five internal areas, which are considered more vulnerable regarding employment opportunities.
