Umbria Region approves Santangelo Group expansion in Terni
The Umbria Region has approved an urban planning variant for the expansion of the Santangelo Group in Cospea, Terni. The regional service for energy transition and sustainable development determined that a strategic environmental assessment (VAS) is not required for the project, as no significant environmental impacts were identified.
The expansion involves productive activities along via Natta. As part of the project, improvements to local infrastructure will be implemented, including the construction of a new roundabout, the creation of public parking areas, and the removal of public traffic from via Morelli.
While the approval was granted, regional officials issued several recommendations for future design phases. These include deepening studies on the landscape integration of the new buildings to mitigate visual impacts from main roads and panoramic points, as well as addressing concerns regarding trees, fine dust, and odors.
