Umbria regional politics: Arcudi seeks clarity after Calenda’s criticism

In Umbria, regional councilor Nilo Arcudi has called for clarity regarding the role of moderate and reformist forces within the regional majority led by President Stefania Proietti. This follows criticisms from Carlo Calenda, leader of Azione, who described the administration’s budget as “disastrous” and claimed the government has done “little or nothing” to support businesses.

Arcudi noted that Calenda’s remarks raise questions about the actual space allocated to centrist components within the coalition. He expressed concern that the regional government's direction is increasingly influenced by the Five Star Movement and the Alliance for Green and Left, potentially distancing the administration from a pragmatic and moderate model.
