Umbria sees two bridge inaugurations in Sigillo and San Piero in Bagno

On Saturday 27 June 2026 the municipality of Sigillo inaugurated the restored Ponte sul Fiume Chiascio, a concrete bridge originally built in the early 1950s. The work, funded by the town, involved structural consolidation of masonry foundations and reinforcement of reinforced‑concrete elements. Mayor Giampiero Fugnanesi highlighted the project as an investment in public safety and local mobility.

Later the same day the neighbouring town of San Piero in Bagno opened a new bridge serving the “Leonardo da Vinci” industrial zone. The bridge, part of a broader expansion that includes new warehouses, roadways and green spaces, was financed by the private companies Ustec and Moretti Escavazioni and handed over to the municipality. Mayor Enrico Spighi and assessor Claudia Mazzoli stressed the bridge’s importance for logistics, tourism and quality of life, with full public use scheduled from 1 July 2026.
