Italian local infrastructure upgrades

In late June 2026, two Umbria municipalities inaugurated new bridges: Sigillo opened the restored Ponte sul Fiume Chiascio, and San Piero in Bagno unveiled a bridge serving the Leonardo da Vinci industrial zone. Both projects were presented as investments in public safety, logistics and tourism.

A month later, the Umbria regional administration reported that main works on the Montemolino and Poggio Aquilone bridges had been completed, with testing and a September traffic reopening planned, emphasizing a simplified, cost‑effective approach. Simultaneously, a neighbourhood committee in Jesi (Marche) highlighted lingering local issues—damaged roads, poor lighting, parking congestion and unresolved restoration of a historic church—despite public meetings and fundraising efforts.
