UMF Carol Davila launches medical screening campaign on Romanian coast

The Carol Davila University of Medicine and Pharmacy (UMFCD) is conducting its sixth annual health prevention campaign, titled ‘Asumă-ți să fii sănătos!’, along the Romanian Black Sea coast. From August 10 to August 15, 2026, the initiative will provide free medical consultations to tourists in five seaside resorts: Olimp, Neptun, Jupiter, Saturn, and Mangalia.

A team of 46 specialists, including dermatologists, endocrinologists, pediatricians, and pulmonologists, will lead the effort. The campaign is coordinated by prominent figures in Romanian medicine, including UMFCD Rector Prof. Univ. Dr. Viorel Jinga and the President of the College of Physicians of Romania, Prof. Univ. Dr. Cătălina Poiană.

Dr. Viorel Jinga noted that the project has established itself as a significant health education and prevention initiative in Romania, offering citizens an opportunity to evaluate their health status through medical responsibility.
