UN agencies strengthen partnerships with Senegal for social and judicial reforms

United Nations agencies are strengthening partnerships with the Senegalese government to advance social and judicial reforms.

UNICEF Deputy Director Hannan Sulieman met with the Prime Minister of Senegal to discuss strategic priorities for children, including community health, education, child protection, and girl empowerment. The discussions highlighted the progress toward the United Nations House in Diamniadio, a project intended to improve coordination among UN agencies and support urban development.

Separately, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is collaborating with Senegal’s Minister of Justice, Moussa Sarr, to modernize the judicial system through digital transformation. Key initiatives include the digital overhaul of the Pikine-Guédiawaye courthouse and the strengthening of e-Justice systems. The partnership also aims to improve citizen access to legal services through advisory offices and focuses on the national action plan for ‘Business and Human Rights’.
