Israeli airstrikes kill civilians, including child, in Gaza as ceasefire violations continue

On July 5, Israeli drone and air attacks in the Gaza Strip killed six Palestinians and injured more than 20, including a married couple hit by a drone strike on an apartment in Gaza City and three fishermen wounded off the coast. The assaults targeted a vehicle on al‑Rashid Street in Khan Yunis, a tent camp in al‑Mawasi and a fishing boat.

Two days later, further Israeli strikes across Gaza killed at least seven civilians, among them a child, in Khan Yunis, western Gaza City and Rafah. One strike hit a vehicle in Tel Al‑Hawa, killing three people including a worker for the Egyptian relief committee. Israeli forces also fired on civilians in Rafah, wounding nine.

In the occupied West Bank, a four‑month‑old Palestinian boy died after an Israeli checkpoint west of Ramallah blocked urgent medical transfer for over an hour. The incident was described by the Ramallah governor as a “stain on the conscience of humanity.”

A UN‑commission report released in early July described Gaza as the world’s most dangerous place for children, documenting more than 20,000 child deaths and over 44,000 injuries since the conflict began in October 2023.
