UN reports record settler violence in West Bank as Palestinian deaths surge, Oxfam says

The United Nations said attacks by Israeli settlers in the occupied West Bank have reached a record level, with more than 1,000 incidents recorded this year – an average of six per day. The violence has displaced over 2,200 Palestinians and caused widespread damage to homes, infrastructure and livelihoods.

An Oxfam analysis found that 1,244 Palestinians, including 268 children, were killed between 2023 and 2025, surpassing the 1,036 deaths recorded in the previous 17 years. About 46,000 Palestinians were forcibly displaced in the same period, and the number of movement restrictions rose to 925 obstacles, limiting access for more than three million residents. The charity also reported extensive damage to water and sanitation facilities and more than 230 attacks on health services in the West Bank during the past year.

Both reports highlight a sharp escalation of violence and humanitarian hardship in the territory since the Gaza war began in October 2023.
