UNAM admits 50,113 students for 2026‑27 cycle, first fully online entrance exam

The National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) will publish the results of its 2026‑27 undergraduate admission on Friday, 17 July, at 17:00 hrs via the Directorate General of School Administration portal. A total of 50,113 new students will be admitted, comprising 21,962 selected through the entrance exam and 28,151 entering through the regulated pass system.

The admission round saw 191,306 applicants register, with 158,712 actually taking the exam. The university increased its intake by 1,454 spots compared with the previous cycle and will offer 134 undergraduate programmes. For the first time, the entrance exam was conducted entirely online, using an artificial‑intelligence‑based monitoring system complemented by human supervisors. Approximately 2 % of exams were cancelled for violations of the contest rules.

UNAM will welcome the new cohort in August and emphasized its commitment to providing high‑quality academic, scientific, technological, and humanistic training.
