UNAM hosts medical research and higher education congresses
The National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) recently hosted two significant academic gatherings. The Faculty of Medicine held its 3rd Research Congress, which brought together university members, health authorities, and researchers to discuss public health, biomedical innovation, sociomedicine, clinical areas, and medical education. The event featured 480 student works and aimed to strengthen collaborative alliances and translational medical practice.
Simultaneously, the Faculty of Psychology organized the 15th Latin American Congress on Dropout in Higher Education (CLABES). Featuring over 420 specialists from 11 countries, the congress focused on student retention and the role of artificial intelligence in education. Discussions highlighted that student permanence is influenced by institutional conditions, social ties, and socioeconomic inequalities, rather than just individual academic performance.
