UNAM suspends admission process after violent disruptions

Mexico’s National Autonomous University (UNAM) halted the in‑person review of certain undergraduate admission exams after violent interference by outsiders, pressure groups, applicants and parents on Thursday. The session, meant to resolve cases with detected irregularities, was cancelled because participants refused to follow the university’s established procedure.

UNAM said the affected candidates will be offered new dates and will not lose their chance to continue the admission process. The university also announced it will file legal complaints against entities offering fraudulent admission services and against those involved in the violence.
