UNAY students reach final of International University Theater Festival

Students from the Universidad de las Artes de Yucatán (UNAY) have reached the final stage of the 33rd International University Theater Festival (FITU), organized by the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM). Their production, titled ‘Limón indio’, was selected from more than 120 proposals.

The play was written by Ivi May Dzib and directed by Francisco Solís. Performed by the student collective La SinRazón, the work explores themes of upbringing, poverty, and machismo through a visceral dramatic lens.

Ulises Vargas Gamboa, director of the UNAY Theater program, noted that this selection recognizes the students' professional training and provides a platform to disseminate their creative research on an international scale.
