International University Theater Festival participation

Overview

The 33rd International University Theater Festival (FITU), organized by UNAM, features various Mexican university productions.

In early September, the University of Colima’s high school theater group, Orión, was scheduled to present the play ‘Demonios blancos’ at the festival in Mexico City. The production, which explores themes of rejection and emotional pressure, marks the group’s first international exposure.

During the festival, students from the Universidad de las Artes de Yucatán (UNAY) reached the final stage with their production ‘Limón indio’. Directed by Francisco Solís, the play examines themes of poverty and machismo and was selected from over 120 proposals.
