UNEAC celebrates 65 years of cultural activity in Cuba
The Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba (UNEAC) is celebrating its 65th anniversary with various commemorative events across the country.
In Villa Clara, the organization held a ceremony at the Foro Agesta to honor its history and its connection to the nation's cultural identity. Provincial authorities Susely Morfa González and Milaxy Yanet Sánchez Armas attended the event, which included tributes to former provincial presidents. UNEAC Villa Clara president Ricardo Riverón Rojas highlighted the institution's long-standing commitment to supporting new creators and maintaining its transformative vocation.
In Guantánamo, the UNEAC provincial branch reopened its La Celosía gallery with the inauguration of the exhibition ‘Limbo’ by visual artist Alejandro Lescay Hierrezuelo. The collection features 13 works using techniques such as scratchboard, drawing, and acrylic on canvas, exploring themes of solitude and existence. The event was attended by local officials, including Ury Rodríguez Urgellés and Yoel Pérez García, and featured musical performances by the group Robertico y su Síncopa Uno.
