Cuba's UNEAC marks 65th anniversary with cultural events

The Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba (UNEAC) announced a week‑long national programme, "Arte fiel", running from 17 to 22 August to celebrate its 65th anniversary. The schedule includes book presentations, panels, concerts, exhibitions and tributes across the country, featuring the National Folkloric Ensemble, the National Ballet, student showcases from the Academy of San Alejandro and a special focus on the legacy of Fidel Castro.

In Guantánamo, the UNEAC Provincial Committee commemorated its 39th anniversary. The ceremony featured performances by the Chamber Orchestra “Mi Sol” under conductor Héctor Fuentes, local singers, dancers from the company Danza Fragmentada and a theatrical piece by actress Alis Lianyis Martínez Sánchez, highlighting the region’s artistic talent.
