UNER study examines AI impact on Entre Ríos labor market

A study by the Interdisciplinary Center for Studies at the Faculty of Economic Sciences of the National University of Entre Ríos (UNER) has examined the impact of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenIA) on the local labor market.

Researcher Leandro Rodríguez found that 23% of urban workers in Entre Ríos, approximately 121,000 people, hold occupations exposed to this technology. Within the registered private salaried employment sector, this exposure rate increases to 29%, affecting about 42,000 positions. The study notes that exposure is more concentrated within the formal core of the labor market rather than its margins.

The most exposed sectors include financial and professional services, commerce, and public administration. Conversely, agriculture, agro-industry, construction, and domestic services are identified as the least exposed. The report emphasizes that exposure does not necessarily equate to job replacement; rather, the outcome will depend on the economic capacity to retain and productively utilize the surplus generated by the technology.
