Unicamp celebrates 60th anniversary with record 60,000 visitors

The 21st edition of the Unicamp Open Doors program (UPA 2026) concluded with a record attendance, with preliminary estimates suggesting approximately 60,694 participants. The event, held at the Barão Geraldo campus in Campinas, coincided with the 60th anniversary of the University of Campinas (Unicamp).

Visitors traveled from several Brazilian states, including São Paulo, Minas Gerais, Rio de Janeiro, Mato Grosso do Sul, and Bahia. The program provided access to various faculties, research institutes, and extension units. The Unicamp Library System (SBU) played a central role, with the Cesar Lattes Central Library (BCCL) hosting an estimated 12,000 visitors and coordinating activities on innovation, sustainability, technology, and health.

Additional programming included historical exhibitions by the Unicamp Memory Center (CMU) regarding the history of Campinas and the university, as well as cultural presentations by the Confucius Institute featuring Chinese music and arts workshops.
