UNICEF reports 60,000 children in Gaza lost one or both parents

A new report from UNICEF highlights the severe humanitarian impact on children in the Gaza Strip. The organization states that approximately 60,000 children have lost one or both parents due to the ongoing conflict and the period following the ceasefire announcement.

According to the data, more than 20,000 children have been killed and 44,000 injured as of October 2025. Even after the ceasefire was announced in October 2025, at least 340 children were reported killed and hundreds more injured by airstrikes, drones, and gunfire.

UNICEF also reports that around 800,000 minors remain displaced, living in precarious tents or damaged buildings. The organization emphasizes the urgent need for psychological support, food, healthcare, and safe conditions to address the extreme economic and emotional vulnerability facing these children.
