UniCredit and Alpha Bank deepen cross‑border banking partnership in Greece and Bulgaria

UniCredit and Alpha Bank have expanded their strategic cooperation to provide a unified platform of cross‑border banking services for companies operating in Greece and Bulgaria. Senior executives met at UniCredit Bulbank’s headquarters in Sofia to discuss leveraging local expertise and the banks’ combined network to support businesses with everyday transactions, cross‑border financing, and advisory services, aiming to facilitate expansion into broader EU markets.

Deputy CEO of Alpha Bank Lazaros Papagarouflou said the banks are “building a bridge that connects Greece and Southeast Europe with the key EU markets,” while UniCredit’s Group Head of Client Solutions Richard Burton highlighted the practical value of the partnership for clients. The collaboration intends to cover the full range of corporate banking needs, improve investment flows to Greece and the region, and offer integrated solutions that help firms grow internationally.
