Unidos de Vila Isabel begins rehearsals for 2027 Carnival

Unidos de Vila Isabel has commenced singing rehearsals in preparation for the 2027 Carnival. The sessions, held at the school's quadra on Boulevard 28 de Setembro, aim to strengthen community participation and refine the interpretation of the samba-enredo.

Carnival director Moisés Carvalho noted that these rehearsals are essential for building collective preparation and ensuring community members understand the emotional depth of the performance. The school is scheduled to parade on Sunday, February 7, at the Marquês de Sapucaí.

The theme for the 2027 parade is ‘Torto Arado – Sobre a terra há de viver sempre o mais forte’, inspired by the novel by writer Itamar Vieira Junior. The theme is being developed by carnival directors Gabriel Haddad and Leonardo Bora, in collaboration with researcher Vinicius Natal.
