Unión del Pueblo Leonés questions University of Burgos enrollment limits

The Unión del Pueblo Leonés (UPL) has submitted formal inquiries to the Junta de Castilla y León regarding the enrollment numbers for new Medicine degrees at the University of Burgos.

The political group alleges a discrepancy in how regulatory frameworks are applied. While the University of León is adhering to its approved plan by enrolling approximately 80 to 88 students—within the permitted 10 percent margin—the University of Burgos is reportedly offering 159 places. This exceeds the 72 places initially established in its implementation report and surpasses the allowed 10 percent increase.

UPL is requesting an assessment from the Ministry of Industry, Universities, Employment, and Commerce to determine if the University of Burgos has violated regulatory frameworks and to address what the group describes as a double standard affecting the University of León.
