United Airlines opens new Terminal B North Concourse at IAH
United Airlines has opened the new Terminal B North Concourse at George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) in Houston. The three-level, 765,000-square-foot facility adds 22 mainline gates, all of which feature jet bridge boarding to improve passenger convenience.
The expansion is a central component of United’s $2.6 billion Terminal B Transformation Program. Once combined with the Terminal B South Concourse, the terminal will offer a total of 48 gates. This infrastructure upgrade is expected to increase passenger capacity for peak travel dates in 2026 by 40% compared to 2023 levels.
Amenities at the new concourse include a 54,000-square-foot United Club with seating for approximately 800 people and an outdoor terrace. The facility also features over 105,000 square feet of retail and dining options, a children’s play area, a sensory room, and a $16.8 million art collection consisting of 10 major installations.
