United Airlines to launch first nonstop US-to-Ibiza flights
United Airlines has announced plans to launch the first-ever scheduled nonstop service between North America and Ibiza. Starting May 31, 2027, the airline intends to operate four weekly flights from Newark using the Airbus A321XLR.
This new route is part of what United describes as the largest international expansion in its history, which includes ten new destinations for 2027 such as Valencia, Marseille, Toulouse, Sardinia, Sicily, and Okinawa. The Ibiza service, which remains subject to final government approval, follows years of lobbying by the island’s tourism office to accommodate the growing number of American visitors.
The airline noted that this expansion follows the success of its 2022 Newark-to-Palma de Mallorca route. United representative Patrick Quayle stated that the airline aims to provide destinations for travelers at every stage of their lives.
