United Kingdom farmers adopt new strategies to combat drought

Farmers and livestock breeders in the United Kingdom are adopting new strategies to combat extreme weather conditions caused by prolonged heatwaves and reduced rainfall. According to the Agriculture and Horticulture Development Council, the warm and dry weather has led to the earliest cereal harvest in at least 20 years.

The lack of precipitation has negatively impacted vegetable quality, resulting in discolored cauliflower, deformed cucumbers, and undersized broccoli, which increases the nation's reliance on vegetable imports.

To mitigate these effects, agricultural producers are exploring several adaptation methods, including:
