United Kingdom pledges £10 billion in support for Ukraine

The United Kingdom has announced a £10 billion ($13.3 billion) support package for Ukraine to be delivered in 2027. Announced by Chancellor of the Exchequer John Healey as part of the UK budget, the package is described by Prime Minister Andy Burnham as the largest financial commitment ever made by the UK to Ukraine.

The aid consists of a combination of economic, military, and energy infrastructure support. Specifically, the package includes £7 billion in economic support over three years, £3 billion in export finance capacity, and £500 million in urgent military funding intended to address critical gaps in Ukraine’s air defenses during the winter.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky praised the announcement, calling it a “truly strong and very timely step” that demonstrates Ukraine will not be left alone. The funding also includes £5.5 billion directed toward World Bank guarantees and £500 million to the World Bank’s crisis facility.
