United States increases military presence in Middle East amid regional tensions

The United States is preparing to deploy an additional 9,000 to 10,000 troops to the Middle East, including an aircraft carrier strike group and marine forces. This deployment brings the total U.S. military presence in the region to over 50,000 personnel as Washington seeks to protect maritime security and increase operational options.

In response to the buildup, Iran has maintained a hardline stance. Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has held discussions with Pakistan's military leadership regarding mediation efforts, but Tehran has stated it will not negotiate with Washington until its specific demands are met. These demands include conditions related to the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz and ending certain blockades.

Simultaneously, preparations continue for the deployment of an International Stabilization Force (ISF) to Gaza. Morocco has reportedly trained approximately 500 personnel for this mission, potentially becoming the first nation to deploy forces to the territory under the U.S.-backed plan. However, reconstruction efforts face significant hurdles, as Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu maintains that Gaza cannot be rebuilt until Hamas is disarmed and the territory is demilitarized.
