United States launches AI-powered America.gov portal

The Trump administration has launched a major initiative to integrate artificial intelligence into federal operations. On September 29, 2026, President Donald Trump introduced ‘America.gov,’ an AI-powered portal designed to consolidate 29,000 federal websites into a single interface. The platform utilizes AI technologies from Google’s Gemini and xAI’s Grok to allow citizens to access government services, such as renewing passports or filing taxes, using natural language.

During a White House conference, the administration also moved to rebrand the technology, with the president signing an executive order directing the government to refer to AI as ‘super intelligence.’ Following a meeting with 20 prominent tech executives, including Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg and Anthropic co-founder Dario Amodei, the president announced a new accord. This agreement serves as a set of principles and guardrails intended to ensure the safe advancement of AI technology through audits and controls.
