United States provides intelligence to Ukraine for Russian energy infrastructure strikes

The United States is providing Ukraine with intelligence data to facilitate strikes against Russian energy infrastructure. According to reports from The Atlantic and Politico, Washington is supplying intelligence packages used to guide strikes on specific Russian sites and energy facilities.

U.S. officials noted that the military shares only "reliable information" rather than everything requested by Kyiv. U.S. lawmakers believe that intelligence exchange between the two nations has returned to previous high levels following a period of tension regarding the targeting of Russian oil infrastructure in Western Siberia.

Russia has issued warnings to the United States regarding this intelligence sharing. Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova stated that Russia regularly informs Washington that transferring intelligence data to Ukraine is unacceptable, as it is used by the Armed Forces of Ukraine to target locations within Russian territory.
