United States Rejects Israel's Request to View Iran MoU Before Switzerland Signing

The United States has declined Israel’s request to obtain a copy of the forthcoming memorandum of understanding with Iran prior to its signing ceremony in Switzerland later this week. President Donald Trump pledged to read the agreement "word for word" but gave no timetable for a public presentation. The draft, reported to contain 14 points, includes the withdrawal of Israeli forces from southern Lebanon, the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, the unfreezing of about $24 billion in Iranian funds and a U.S. reconstruction plan for Iran. Iranian officials say Tehran will press for Israel’s pull‑out, while Hezbollah warned the deal would not be signed without that condition. Israel’s defence minister has reiterated that Israeli forces will not withdraw, aligning with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s stance. The signing is expected on Friday, after which the parties will have 60 days to negotiate a final agreement.
