United States removes sanctions from dozens of Colombians and companies
The United States Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) has updated its sanctions list, removing dozens of Colombian individuals and companies. The revision includes 37 people and 31 related entities that were previously included in the Treasury Department's records.
Notable individuals removed from the list include Francisco Javier Zuluaga Lindo, known as ‘Gordo Lindo’, who was previously linked to the Norte del Valle cartel; Luis Antonio Hernández Zea, known as ‘El Capitán’, who was associated with aeronautical sector investigations; and Pedro Antonio Bermúdez Suaza, known as ‘El Arquitecto’, who served as a link between cocaine trafficking organizations in Colombia and Mexico.
This modification is part of a broader review process of U.S. sanctions.
