Las Yaguaretés finish undefeated at Pre-Odesur Tournament

The Argentine women’s rugby sevens team, Las Yaguaretés, completed an undefeated run at the Pre-Odesur International Tournament held at Club Taborín in Córdoba. The squad, which included players from Entre Ríos, fielded two teams. The primary team, Yaguaretés 1, won all four matches against Córdoba, Peru, Yaguaretés 2, and Chile, scoring 145 points and conceding only 12. This tournament serves as vital preparation for the 2026 Odesur Games, which offer a qualifying spot for the 2027 Pan American Games in Lima.

In men’s rugby, the Argentina XV narrowly lost 25-24 to the United States in their season opener at the Inter Miami CF Stadium in Fort Lauderdale. Despite tries from Martín Vaca, Nicolás Viola, and Franco Rossetto, the American side, known as the Eagles, secured the victory in a closely contested match.
