Universal Orlando redevelops Islands of Adventure area amid Zelda news

Universal Orlando Resort is currently demolishing The Lost Continent area at Islands of Adventure, a section of the park in operation since 1999. While the company has not officially announced the replacement for the land, the redevelopment has fueled speculation regarding a potential ‘The Legend of Zelda’ themed area.

Coinciding with these developments, Nintendo has provided updates on its upcoming live-action film, titled ‘The Legend of Zelda’. Shigeru Miyamoto confirmed that the movie will not be a direct adaptation of a single game but will instead draw from various concepts and stories across the franchise to create a cinematic version of Hyrule.

In other seasonal news, Universal Orlando has announced the ‘Universal Monsters Laguna Lounge’ for the 2026 Halloween season. Located at Loews Royal Pacific Resort, the limited-time tiki bar will feature mid-century modern decor and themed displays of classic monsters such as Frankenstein’s Monster, the Wolf Man, and the Mummy.
