Universal Orlando to close Fast & Furious – Supercharged early, plans new Fast & Furious coaster

Fast & Furious Supercharged Hollywood Drift Universal Orlando roller coaster closure 2027 opening

Universal Orlando announced that the Fast & Furious – Supercharged simulator will close on August 16, 2026, moving the shutdown up by more than five months from the previously expected January 2027 date. The early closure clears the way for the upcoming Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift roller coaster, slated to open sometime in 2027.

The new outdoor coaster will replace the former Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit attraction and will feature a 170‑foot spike, making it the tallest coaster at Universal Orlando. Designed by Intamin, the ride vehicles are themed after iconic cars such as the Dodge Charger, Mazda RX‑7, Nissan Skyline GT‑R and Toyota Supra. A counterpart at Universal Studios Hollywood is set to open in 2026.

No exact opening date for Hollywood Drift has been provided, but Universal indicated that further details will be shared with annual passholders in the future.
