UAT rector launches employment alliances and academic reforms

Rector Dámaso Anaya Alvarado of the Universidad Autónoma de Tamaulís (UAT) announced strategic agreements with the Agencia Nacional de Aduanas de México (ANAM), the Suprema Corte de Justicia de la Nación (SCJN) and the Altamira Industrial Port. The partnerships will open 500 entry‑level positions for recent graduates in fields such as foreign trade, law, administration, accounting and engineering, and have already placed nine graduates at the Supreme Court.

During the same university assembly, UAT approved updates to seven master’s programs, two doctorate tracks, new undergraduate offerings and revisions to existing health and veterinary degrees. The assembly also confirmed José de Jesús Guzmán Morales as head of the University Rights Defender office.

In a separate ceremony, the university’s Center for Languages for Children and Adolescents graduated its 2026‑1 cohort, awarding 41 TOEFL certificates and recognizing top performers in English and French. The event highlighted the institution’s push to raise language proficiency as part of its broader internationalisation strategy.
