Universidad Autónoma de Tamaulipas considers new medical faculty in Cd. Victoria

The Universidad Autónoma de Tamaulipas (UAT) is considering the creation of a new Faculty of Medicine at its Ciudad Victoria campus. Historically, the university has limited enrollment for human medicine programs in Tampico and Matamoros due to structural constraints, specifically the availability of hospitals for undergraduate internships and social service placements.

Under the administration of Rector Dámaso Anaya Alvarado, the project is included in the institution's Institutional Development Plan. The expansion aims to address the need for more medical professionals and relies on securing sufficient budget and clinical training areas for students to practice under specialist supervision.
