Universidad Autónoma de Tamaulipas expands rural education access

The Universidad Autónoma de Tamaulipas (UAT) is expanding its educational reach through various programs and regional facilities. The institution's Communication Sciences degree, offered in Ciudad Victoria, focuses on developing critical thinking and technological skills for journalists and media professionals.

To improve access in rural areas, the UAT utilizes its Regional Knowledge Transfer Units (URTC) located in San Fernando, Jiménez, Tula, and González. Under the leadership of Rector Dámaso Anaya Alvarado, these centers provide technological infrastructure—including high-speed connectivity and smart screens—to support fully online undergraduate, graduate, and high school programs.

In addition to degrees in areas such as Data Science, Renewable Energies, and Graphic Design, the university is offering distance language courses in English, French, German, and Italian for the Autumn 2026 term.
