Tamaulipas universities announce new degree and student initiatives

The Universidad Autónoma de Tamaulipas (UAT) has announced the launch of a new Bachelor’s degree in Management and Data Analytics (LGAD). Scheduled to begin in January 2027, the program will be hosted by the Facultad de Comercio y Administración de Tampico (FCAT). The curriculum focuses on artificial intelligence applied to business, big data, business intelligence, and digital marketing, utilizing tools such as Python, SQL, and Cloud Computing.

In other institutional developments, UAT Rector Dámaso Anaya Alvarado presided over the 53rd anniversary of the Sindicato Único de Trabajadores de la UAT (SUTUAT), recognizing the 2,573 union members for their role in the university’s operations.

Separately, the Universidad Tecnológica de Nuevo Laredo (UTNL) conducted an addiction prevention campaign titled “Impacta con tu ejemplo y disfruta la vida sin drogas.” Led by Rector José Antonio Tovar Lara in coordination with IMPACTA, the initiative provided students with information regarding the risks of alcohol, drugs, tobacco, vaping, and HIV.
