UAT partners with industry and government to build regional economic clusters

The Universidad Autónoma de Tamaulipas (UAT) is acting as a strategic hub for a public‑private partnership that links the state government, private firms and academia. Rector Dámaso Anaya Alvarado said the university’s northern campuses are collaborating with industry leaders to develop cluster projects in key sectors such as automotive parts, automation, and electromechanical design. The alliances aim to align curricula and graduate programmes with market needs, attract foreign investment and boost the competitiveness of Tamaulipas’ manufacturing and logistics.

The initiative includes facilities like the Multidisciplinary Academic Unit Reynosa‑Rodhe and UAM Río Bravo, which provide training and research capacity for advanced manufacturing and supply‑chain technologies. By coordinating with the state’s development strategy, the university hopes to create a skilled talent pool that supports regional clusters and promotes economic growth across the border area.
