Universidad Autónoma de Tamaulipas leads industry clusters and urban planning in Tamaulipas

The Universidad Autónoma de Tamaulipas (UAT), under rector Dámaso Anaya Alvarado, is partnering with private industry and the state government to create regional industry clusters in sectors such as automotive parts, automation and electrical‑electronic manufacturing. The university highlights its faculty members in the National System of Researchers as a key advantage for delivering specialized talent and attracting foreign investment to the border region.

In a separate initiative, Rector Anaya accompanied a group of law students on a visit to the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation (SCJN) to link academic study with practical judicial experience, aiming to strengthen the professional profile of future lawyers.

The state also installed the Council for Territorial Planning and Urban Development, bringing together municipal governments, federal agencies and academic institutions—including UAT—to coordinate sustainable urban growth across Tamaulipas through the PREDUST program.
