Universidad Autónoma de Tamaulipas academic infrastructure scientific production livestock sector alliance higher education

The Universidad Autónoma de Tamaulipas (UAT) is implementing a strategic plan to strengthen its academic infrastructure and scientific output. Rector Dámaso Anaya Alvarado has prioritized upgrading facilities with high-tech laboratories and functional classrooms to meet growing educational demands, specifically noting developments in Nuevo Laredo and Tampico.

In terms of academic achievement, the university has reached a historic milestone in scientific production, editing over 80 books this year. Additionally, two of its degree programs, Public Accounting and Nursing, have been recognized in the CENEVAL EGEL Plus High Performance Registry.

To support regional development, the UAT has signed a strategic alliance with the Unión Ganadera Regional de Tamaulipas. This partnership aims to integrate academic research with the livestock sector, focusing on animal nutrition, health, and reproduction to improve productivity for local producers. The institution also aims to maintain its current budget levels through 2027 to sustain this growth.
