Universidad Católica draws 1-1 with Unión La Calera in Copa Chile

Universidad Católica and Unión La Calera played to a 1-1 draw in the first leg of the Copa Chile round of 16 at the Nicolás Chahuán stadium. Martín Gómez scored for the visiting side, while Juan Pablo Salomoni equalized for the hosts.

Despite playing with 15 absences, Universidad Católica controlled much of the second half. However, coach Daniel Garnero expressed frustration, noting that the team failed to manage their advantage and allowed the opponent too many opportunities in the area. Player Martín Gómez also described the result as a “bitter taste,” stating the team could have achieved more.
