Universidad César Vallejo hosts academic contest for 2,870 students

Approximately 2,870 students from five provinces in the highlands of La Libertad participated in the 'El Estudiante del Año 2026' academic contest. Organized by the Universidad César Vallejo (UCV) Trujillo campus, the competition aimed to promote critical thinking, research, creativity, leadership, and civic commitment among youth.

The highest participation was recorded in Sánchez Carrión, where roughly 1,200 students from 18 educational institutions took part. Other participating provinces included Otuzco with 620 students, Santiago de Chuco with approximately 500, Gran Chimú with 350, and Julcán with nearly 200.

During the event in Huamachuco, UCV Trujillo General Director Gisell Prado Álvarez also announced the opening of a new admissions office in the city to provide local students with better access to information regarding the university's educational services and opportunities.
