Universidad César Vallejo resumes academic contest for La Libertad students

The Universidad César Vallejo (UCV) Trujillo campus has resumed its academic competition, ‘El Estudiante del Año 2026’, after an eight-year hiatus. The initiative, proposed by founder Dr. César Acuña Peralta, aims to recognize the talent and academic excellence of youth in the La Libertad region.

More than 26,000 fifth-grade secondary students from 501 public and private educational institutions are participating. The competition is structured in three stages: an initial evaluation of general knowledge and curriculum areas, a semifinal focusing on reading comprehension and science, and a grand final held at the UCV Trujillo campus to select the top ten students.

The contest seeks to promote critical thinking, leadership, and research while honoring the cultural legacy of César Vallejo.
