Universidad de Colima prepares for new academic cycle and research advancements
The Universidad de Colima (UdeC) is implementing several academic and administrative updates. The institution is preparing for the start of the new school cycle on August 17, covering high school, undergraduate, and postgraduate levels. Rector Christian Torres Ortiz Zermeño led a coordination meeting with over 380 university officials to manage increased student demand and the implementation of the ‘Mi ColiBeca para el Futuro’ program, which provides state-funded enrollment support.
In response to highway complications on the Colima-Manzanillo route, the university is reactivating a hybrid learning model for the Tecomán campus. Additionally, academic staff have initiated a forum to update the Chemical Analyst Technician curriculum to align with current disciplinary advances and the university’s educational model.
On the research front, the law faculty’s journal, De Jure, has advanced to the second stage of evaluation to join the National System of Scientific and Humanistic Publications. This process, overseen by the Secretariat of Science, Humanities, Technology, and Innovation (Secihti), involves a qualitative analysis of editorial content to determine the publication’s level of consolidation.
