Universidad de Guanajuato inaugurates solar farm in Celaya

The University of Guanajuato (UG) has inaugurated a new solar farm at its Celaya-Salvatierra Campus, specifically at the Juan Pablo II site. This project is part of the institution's Institutional Energy Efficiency Program and was funded by the Fondo de Aportaciones Múltiples (FAM).

The investment totaled approximately 3,152,758.67 MXN. The installation includes photovoltaic systems, electrical rooms with inverters, and interconnection works. The solar farm has an annual generation capacity of 18,790.20 kWh, which is expected to prevent the emission of 8,267.69 kg of CO2.

In addition to the energy project, the university rehabilitated multi-purpose sports courts at both the Juan Pablo II and Mutualismo sites as part of its educational infrastructure maintenance program.
