Universidad de Sonora launches free hydration stations on Hermosillo campus

The University of Sonora will install free hydration modules on its Hermosillo campus beginning Monday, 10 August. Operated from 08:00 to 15:00, the stations will dispense water, oral rehydration solution and preventive health advice to students.

The first locations are the Central Library, building 8A (home to the Student Support Office), the Department of Foreign Languages and the Department of Sports and Physical Activity. The initiative, announced by Ilse Guadalupe Solano Cuevas, head of the Student Health Program, aims to prevent heat‑stroke and dehydration as academic activities resume and new students arrive during a period of extreme temperatures. Additional sites and extended hours may be added if demand grows.
