Universitas Pasundan faces allegations of sexual harassment by lecturers

Thirteen female students at Universitas Pasundan (Unpas) have reported sexual harassment involving several faculty members within the Faculty of Law. According to the Student Executive Board (BEM) of the Faculty of Law, initial investigations suggest that between four and six lecturers may be involved in the alleged misconduct.

In response to the allegations, students have issued seven demands to the university leadership, including free psychological and legal assistance for victims, a thorough investigation, and a total reconstruction of the Sexual Violence Prevention and Handling Task Force (Satgas PPKS). The BEM has set a 7x24 hour deadline for the rectorate to respond.

Lalu Hadrian Irfan, Deputy Chairman of Commission X of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI), has called for a transparent and objective investigation, urging the university to impose the strictest administrative sanctions, including dismissal, and to ensure criminal proceedings are pursued to prevent impunity. The Vice Rector I, Cartono, confirmed the reports and stated that the university is forming a special investigation team that will include student representatives.
