Universities Expand Community Education in Mexico, Argentina

The Faculty of Architecture and Design at Universidad de Colima sent professors to rural communities in the state of Colima—Juluapan (Villa de Álvarez), Campo 4 (Comala) and El Sauz (Minatitlán)—to diagnose conditions in schools run by the National Council for Educational Development (CONAFE). The team carried out architectural surveys, collected technical data and identified priority needs for construction and improvement of educational infrastructure, aiming to create safer and more functional learning spaces.

In La Plata, Argentina, Liceo Víctor Mercante reopened the “Feria del Paseo” of popular, social and solidarity economy. The fair gathered producers, artisans and students, offering fair‑priced, healthy foods and handcrafted goods. Director Constanza Erbetta highlighted the event’s role in university extension and community linkages, while UNLP’s social council and local cooperatives supported the initiative to promote inclusive economic activities and experiential learning.
